Disneyland Trip 2010

Starting our day at
Disneyland and having this cute lady in front of us made me feel under dressed for the the long day ahead of us, somewhere between Mesa and California my HAT got lost! this was the beginning of our day!

Hallie and Oscar anxiously awaiting to go to our first ride for the day which was Peter Pan! I will explain later!

Second day at the beach, and it was FREEZING COLD not to mention the WIND blowing the whole time we were there, the kids had fun playing in the sand and letting the waves catch there feet, it was a great day!

So we did a neat thing this time, my sister told me about a program call ridemax, you program all your rides and the time you want to be a Disneyland and when you want to take your break and then it figures out what time you should be at each ride, and when to go get your fast passes, it was pretty neat and really worked and we got to ride on all the rides that we wanted with barely any wait time at all, like maybe 15 min at the most it was really cool! we had a great time and it was fun to be with all of our kids well minus Zac, maybe next time!

The last time I posted was Hannah Shower, since then she has given us another beautiful grandson this makes two for us, Willie and Camie have Vance and Hannah and Billy now have Reed, he is such a good baby and I feel very lucky for her that he is, she has her hands very full with three little kids now. She is a great Mom and has many talents if you go to her blog you can see all the amazing things she has sewn and stitched, I have no doubt that her kids will be showing off many new fashions, she actually made the blanket that Reed was blessed in I don't where she finds the time to do all these things!

Then this little girl turned one, Nixyn is the sweetest little girl she just roams around grandma's house and never makes a peep, she has learned to share her new little brother not sure if she likes that too much right now but i know she loves him she has the cutest little personality, Grandpa and Grandma love her and wish her a Happy Birthday!

Then there's Oscar this guy turned a big 8, I cannot believe he is already 8 where does the time go, he has brought so much joy and laughter to our family and sometimes tires his Mom and Dad out trying to keep up with him, I have no regrets having this happy child come to me in my life later then expected, he has been a blessing to me and has given me strength when it was needed at a time in my life. Happy Birthday Oscar we love you

And so it begins all over again, yep we get to do scouting again it has been many years since we have done scouting in our family the last time was with Zac and that was about 14 years ago, I was so tempted to dig out Zac and Willie's old pinewood derby cars and recycle them, but new that wouldn't go over big with this guy, he was so excited to carve his car and paint it with his Dad they had a great night racing his car, I was sad i couldn't be there but was at Hallie choir concert which was pretty good with some familiar songs! (finally)

Oscar had a very special day this birthday he was baptised a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, he was so excited for this day to come, it was a happy sad day for me for he was our last to be baptised, his brother Willie was asked by Oscar to give the talk on the Holy Ghost Willie did a great job and told a story about his dad while his dad was on his Mission, i know there were some watery eyes, mine mostly, thanks Willie and thanks Oscar for asking him!

Zac also was able to participate, Oscar had allot of family support that came and he thanks everyone for being there, his special day was shared with another little boy in our ward, Dane between both families the room was full, and then we went over to the Sherwoods for some yummy cake and salsa, who would of thought that these two little babies were in the same hospital one day apart Oscar being our last and Dane being there first and not knowing each other well maybe they did before they were sent to us and ending up being in the same ward and there family being one of our good friends.

We love you Oscar this day was very special thanks!

Then it was off to Rocky Point for Oscar birthday and well spring break, Oscar has been going here since he was practically born, and he pretty much celebrates his birthday here every year, he has told us more then once that he wants to live here and have a yellow house with a blue roof, he has made many friends on the beach and continues to do that today.

First time skim boarding, now he's a pro and now he wants one, thanks to these strangers on the beach for letting him use there board!

End of our trip, Oscar is not a big fan of shopping, but we had a good time, we missed Hallie this trip but she was in Newport Beach having fun with her good friends Page and Matty.

Hannah's baby shower/ Hallie Vollyball Tournament

We had Hannah's Baby shower last Thurs during the biggest storm that Mesa has had in a long time it was pouring down rain and the wind was very angry, sighting of tornado's, puddles of rain but in spite of all this Hannah had a very nice shower and had a great turn out with family and friends. Camie had it at her house and did an amazing job on the decorating everything was cute and colorful, thanks Camie for letting us have it at your house.

I love my beautiful Mom and these two sisters that are in this picture Trish and Lida they are great sisters to have all of my sisters were there but wondering why i didn't get a picture of them someone must of had too.

Hannah got this cute quilt from Billy's Mom I give her all the credit in Hannah's sewing abilities and I am so grateful that Hannah's has become very creative in her own sewing ways!

Me, Hannah and Hallie I love my daughters very much and I am very grateful for such a great daughter in law who puts up with her crazy Mother in law!

Hallie's Poston Volleyball Team! they won City Championship!

Hallie has really enjoyed playing Volleyball and loves the girls that she plays with she is wanting to play next year, it was fun watching her and seen her develop her skills

Her two good friends Page and Matty she has a great time with them, there Mom was and still is my best friend since grade school we are glad that they have taken after our skills and talents! Marci I know you agree with this!

Thanksgiving and Christmas Combo

We have been pretty busy or i should say i have been pretty busy and haven't been very good at updating my blog. The top pictures are from Thanksgiving, we had Thanksgiving at my Parents and there were about 90 of us, we all had a great time and there was much food to eat.. Then came Christmas, and Christmas breakfast at my mom's it was a fun day and everyone seemed happy with what they received from Santa, we love being with family and we always love going to my parents for Christmas Breakfast the food was yummy and the cooks were awesome, I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and hope everyone had a fun time bringing in the new year, we did.....

Halloween to Knife cutting to Hay Ride!

Boyd's sister Elyce was here visiting from Colorado so we all went on a Hay Ride down in Lehi, here are some of the nieces and nephews and siblings of Boyd's on the ride, it was allot of fun and the weather was perfect, afterwards we all had some yummy cookies that Megan had made and some delightful Brownies that Grandma Shill had made, it was a great night.

Yes this is Zac's thumb, he went on a Deer hunt and was helping a guy out with his Deer and started skinning the Deer when his knife got the best of his Thumb, this picture looks better then it actually did, I was glad that my two son's were wise and decided to go to the Fire station and have them take a look at it, there was nothing they could do at that point with the piece that was missing! But they cleaned it up really good and then bandaged it up, but that didn't keep them from heading for home, nope they stayed for the evening hunt and got another deer and then came home late that night, I was privileged to have Zac actually bring me the other piece of his thumb home, (sick). I'm just glad that it was not worse and that there was no infection that followed..

Here are my two biggest Trick or Treaters, Oscar a red eye glowing alien and Hallie and her friends dressed up as nerd they had a great time, thanks to Grandma Prince for having a yummy Chile dinner before the kids headed out for there candy fest. Oscar ended his night at Boyd's parents for some good pizza and homemade donuts...

Last Mintute decision! Fun time for October Break

This guy informed me that this is the place were we need to live, he has been coming down since he was a baby, celebrates his B-day here every March and wants a Blue house with a Yellow roof, I am sure it won't be hard to find one.. He always meets a friend or two while we are there, which is always fun for him, this time he meet Paul he is from Phoenix and his parents come down allot so maybe he will get to see him again.

Hallie is getting older so its alittle more difficult to entertain the older girls, they did have a good time and Hallie did get to stay a few more days longer.

Since we have been going down this has been our favorite place to get flour tortilla's they are the best, we love them and seems like we don't get enough of them while we are there, Boyd enjoyed himself, read a thick book in two days and then got sick the other two, so we didn't see to much of him on the beach, but he was fine with that, he did take Oscar and walked the beach looking for some fun shells and other creatures but that's about it, i do have to say he is not much of a water person..

My Sister called and asked if we wanted to go down and spend a few day in Rocky Point and I said are you serious, we hadn't planned anything for October Break and it was a Friday and we had like two hours to get everything arranged and packed, we grabbed food out of the fridge and i had to hurry and arrange for someone to do my daycare, luckily Camie was so kind enough to do it for me, we left at 7:00 and got there around 10:30 it was great, we forgot a few things but nothing we couldn't live without, the weather was amazing it was beautiful with an amazing breeze the whole time we were there, I like Oscar could stay there forever it is so quite and relaxing and you have each other to enjoy without the feeling of being busy, busy , busy... Thanks Janene for letting us have a great 4 days in Rocky Point....

Different Happenings in the Shill Home...

I haven't posted for awhile, not much really is going on. I had girls camp in August, it was allot of fun I haven't been back to camp since i went when i was in Mutual well thats what we called it back in my days now it is call Young womens, the girls were allot of fun to be around and they keep you young, the beds were alittle to be desired and i couldn't wait to get home to my own, the food was good as i have always heard and the weather was lame it was so hot and yes i did survive the three hour hike and i did pay for it when i got home, so tired and sore muscles... but I had a great experience and look forward to next year.. This is Oscar's Sunday fun he gets out all of his sea creatures and bug and makes them a home and then we get to come out and see what he has done, this boy has such the imagination i love it, he keeps me smiling i am so glad he would rather do this then watch TV and play video games all day he is so fun to have around.. Then i have these two big guys that have been bird hunting everyday since Dove season has opened, for some reason my kitchen sink was the place to clean these birds everyday, but i will say they did clean up there mess too, so we have like 4 gallon size bags in the freezer so if anyone wants some dove just give me a call?? Well another thing that has been going on with me for some odd reason i got SHINGLES here is alittle something about them..Shingles occurs when the virus that causes chickenpox starts up again in your body. After you get better from chickenpox, the virus "sleeps" (is dormant) in your nerve roots. In some people, it stays dormat forever. In others, the virus "wakes up" when disease, dress, or aging weakens the immune system. It is not clear why this happens. But after the virus becomes active again, it can only cause shingles, not chickenpox. So there is alittle 101 on Shingles, let me tell you it was the most painful thing i have done there is a prescription med that you can take but you have to make sure you take it within 48 of the rash, and then there is some amazing pill that you can take its call Vicadin that helps you get through all this without these two things i think i would ask to be put out.. I feeling somewhat better it takes time they say from anywhere from three weeks to three Months i don't want to go into the months, and I don't want it to come back so does anybody have any good ideas on not having stress or any of the other symptoms in your life:) things are looking up though which i feel blessed...

Today is this big boy's birthday, Were pretty glad he went to a Spanish speaking Mission, now we just hope he will use it often and have it help him in his career??

Always wanted to be a cowboy, and sometimes he dreams of riding a bull, I told him it wasn't in our blood but he can pretend to do anything he wants...

This is one of the things that he enjoys doing and he did catch us allot of fish while we were in Greer..

Loves his Nieces and Nephew and love's it when they come over to visit, he is a Great Uncle to them and has fun teasing and playing and tiring them out.

But this is the Love of his life right now!!!! He would rather be hunting and scouting and glassing for his up coming hunts then even think about having another comp. by his side, but I keep telling him you can't be Happy unless you find the one you love for ever.... so hopefully after all these hunts that are coming up he might look into that.. We love you Zac have a great birthday...

First Day of School

SO sad to send this fun little boy off to school, i will miss his hugs and kisses through out the day and all of his inventions that he has done through the summer, he truly entertains us all, I know he will be fine at school but will be anxious to come home and play, Mom loves you Oscar have a great year in the second grade..

I will surely miss this young lady! She has been the biggest help to me all summer, it was nice to have someone that I knew i could leave my daycare kids with and they would be fine while I had to run errands, or have Dr. appt to go too, She is a special girl in our family, she is our peacemaker and we love her, she will have a great year starting in the eighth grade she has good friends to have fun with. Have a great year Hallie I will miss having you here.

Oscar is not to sure about starting back at least that's what it looks like in this picture! the other two boys are ones that i have had in my daycare since they were 18 mo and a new born and now they are off to school, i will still get to have them in my home after school for alittle bit, they are good boys and are nice to have around, I can't believe they are in school all day now, Dewey will start 5th grade and Emett is in all day kindergarten..

Meet Mrs. Sanders, she will be Oscar's new second grade teacher, she seems really nice and I hope that he has a great school year, allot of his friends happen to be in his class along with one of his cousin, Preston, he was so excited.. I will miss this little boy he is so much fun to have around but he is ready for school to start and I think we are all ready to be on somewhat of a schedule..

Hallie's cousins and two of her good friends surprised her and showed up with a Cake and to hang out for the day, Hallie was gone on her Birthday day to Canada so they all wanted to do something before school started, she was surprised and I had to endure the noise that came with it, they are all a bunch of good girls that like to have fun, Julia my Niece made this cute little cake for them all to enjoy, she does a pretty good job, thanks girls for coming and spending the day with Hallie...

Happy fourteenth Birthday to this beautiful girl, she has grown into a young lady and is so much fun to have around, we will be missing her this day as she is on her way home from being in Canada for the last ten days, she has been having allot of fun and seeing some pretty country with her sister and family. I can't believe how the time has gone by and watching Hallie grow over the years, she is a big help to her mom and family, loves the new little babies that her siblings keep having, she is a great friend to all her friends and cousins, we are so blessed to have her in our home, Dad and I love you Hallie Happy Birthday today....

A big Birthday wish to Bob, Boyd's dad, they had all the fam over for Dinner last Sunday and we cooked up most of the Trout that we brought back with us from Greer, it was very yummy and delish, there was quite the gang there between my family and grand kids and all of Boyd's siblings not to mention allot of body heat the heated up the house, the noise level was a tad hi but it was a fun night to celebrate with all.

Karen brought in more furniture, so we had wall to wall sitting, first time ever...

Also this week I had my annual mammogram, not my most favorite thing to get done. I stress over it for weeks until its time to go in, I don't know why i let it bother me so much but it's overwhelming for me to want to go in and get it done. They have a new way of doing it now where they take digital pictures I was able to see the pictures that they took, not that i knew what to look for but it was very interesting, then you wait and wait till they come back with the results and this time they said we need to take more picture but on your right side! i was like my right side that wasn't even the side that i had my cancer in so then that made me sweat some bullets, she said the Dr. saw something that he didn't see the time before, so they took two more pictures. The whole time i was waiting i was praying too, I just wanted to run out of the building and not hear any of the results that's how scared i was... The Nurse came out with her arms in the air and with a big smile and told me it was all good and there was nothing there, that was the best news, so I'm good to go for another year, maybe i will get to the point were i don't get so scared..... so here is the paper that they gave me!! whoo hoo...

My agony of No See- Um Bites!

So over the Fourth we went to Greer! had a lovely time until THIS! a few days after we had got back my ankles and legs just started itching like no other, I was so miserable and it was driving me nuts.. had allot of medical advice from everyone and noting seem to help, first started out taking benedryl and putting cortisone creme on them then then it went to using caladryl both the pink kind and clear somewhat relief and then by Saturday I could not stand it any longer and finally checked me into a Dr. I told him I went fishing down by the stream and this is what happen to me a few days later, I said I thought they were no- see um bites and he looked at me pretty funny and started laughing, like i was crazy (it was a fun laugh) I know Ariz. doesn't have chiggers so Boyd said that his Grandpa always called them no see- ums I told the Dr. I was serious and that he could learn all about them on google! any who we had some good laughs but he knew i was miserable so he told me i need a stronger antihistamine and a steroid for the swelling and then told me to get some Aveno to put on them, they are finally feeling better as long as i take the antihistamine for the itching, but it makes me pretty tired but thats okay i am always ready for a good night sleep, nothing less i am just glad that i am finally feeling alittle relief, I learned a valuable lesson and that is always spray on the DEET bug spary before you go near the water..... never again will I go without doing this I was one MISERABLE girl....

Here we are in the Beautiful land of Greer Arizona were we spent the Fourth of July weekend. Needless to say it was very hard to want to come home, the weather was perfect the highs 75 and the low 60's what better could you ask for. The kids and Adult kids had a grand time, we fished at sheep's crossing every day and had our limit, we ended up coming home with fifty trout! yum, can't wait to put them on the grill and cook them up, Everyone hated to come home to 115 temp. We all can't wait to go back again...

Hallie and I caught these fish all by ourselves, this was my lucky green shirt, when I didn't wear it I caught NO fish when I wore it I always caught some fish, Hallie and I had a great time being fishing buddies....

It had been pouring down rain, that is why we are wearing these nice fashionable rain poncho's.

Is this the cutest one year old you have ever seen! we all got to celebrate Vance's birthday at the Tempe Town Park it was allot of fun and the kids all had a great time playing in the water park, Happy Birthday Vance we love you..

And here are the cooks for the event, Willie cooked some yummy hotdogs and camie made a really cute cake for vance the weather was great and the best was that we got to spend time with all the family.

Our little fishing trip to Tonto Creek, it was allot of fun even though we didn't catch any fish, it was the time spent together that made up for it..

And this is what Oscar called a "SWEET TRUCK" had to throw this in cause come on where would see a truck like this other then in Payson.....okay maybe Texas...

Schools out! and Summer fun begins!!!

Schools Out for Summer!!!!

Hallie was so ready for school to be done with, I do have to admit she did awesome all during her first year in Junior High more better then I ever did (grades that is) ! she was invited to be on the NJHS, She's a great Daughter and Friend to have, now she gets to work and help me for the Summer I am sure she will be ready to go back after her break is over.... Oscar is a swimming machine he is in the pool 24-6 loves to swim and have fun creating new adventures every day, these are some of his school buddies that were in his classroom, Mason and Zac they had a great time during the school year.

Here our my cute little friends that I have during the Summer, Friday Hallie helped them all make some really cute Sun Visors for them to take home, they all loved it! This is what Oscar will be busy with this Summer entertaining all these kids, of course he thinks he is the one in charge!

And this is our Crazy little Av, she keeps us on our toes, her shirt explains her totally! she is very much FUN SIZE and swims like a fish... she loves her baby dolls to play with and gives them rides all the time, sometime I worry for Nixyn in hopes that she doesn't try her rides for her, we are so glad we have our Avree around she keeps us all laughing and she also likes to be in charge so it is a love war between her and Oscar....

Knowledge to Legacy to Faith! What a week...

It's been awhile since I last posted and so many things have happen that I need to remember! The week started off pretty busy and then got lots more busier! We were honored to be invited to Hallie introduction to NJHS, she wasn't sure if she wanted to be apart of this and I told her it was a honor to be recognized (probably cause no one from are family has yet been there including her mother and father) and that she should go and be proud of herself for all the hard work and studying that she has done this school year to keep her grade average up, it was a nice assembly and Boyd and I were very proud of her she ended the school year with a 4.0--whoo hoo Hallie!!!!!!! so proud of her.

Then Boyd's grandma died Wilma Shill and we buried her Saturday she was the most gracious grandma and great grandma and great great grandma ever she has a Legacy that will go on forever, she would always look into your eyes while you were talking to her and you knew that she was really listening to what you had to tell her, i will always remember her soft hands that held you close to her, she has a special place in our hearts and mine, she was able to watch Hannah for me when she was just 2 mo old while I had to go have surgery done to remove the nogile on my thyroid, my mom and dad were on a mission in Canada and all my sister were having babies so grandma offered to take her, i never worried once while i was in the hospital for a week, she will be missed by all, but so happy for her that she is with her husband who has been gone for fifteen years what a happy reunion that must of been for them both.

I keep looking at Boyd and telling myself "Man he's handsome all dressed up"! then these two boys Jack and Sam are all grown up they are Boyd's cousins there mom is Boyd's Aunt and I use to watch these guys when they were babies does that tell you how long I have been doing daycare they were like 18mo and Sam was just a baby! wow were does the time go I always love to talk to them and tell them stories they were like my own.

Then after the funeral and luncheon we all left and Boyd drove through Sonic, it was so stinkin hot out side that we all had to cool off with a drink, his phone rings and it is Hannah he hands me the phone and i could tell she was histarical and crying!!! whats wrong, she told me that Nixyn her 3 mo old fell out of the car seat as she was carry her in to the house and that she has a big bump on her head and was kinda of out of it , i told her to get to the ER now and that we would meet them there!!! my heart was pounding and we all broke into more tears I told Hallie and Oscar to fold there arms that we needed to say a pray for Niki--- we got to the hospital and my heart started pounding and my body felt limp, Hannah was a basket case and billy besides himself and I was so sad to see her laying on her Mom's chest Boyd called his Dad and he came up pretty darn quick and I asked the nurse if there was a room we could go and give her a blessing the nurse was great a took us to a room that was just for people that were having chest pains and said we could use this but to hurry in case someone came in, Boyd gave Nixyn a blessing and I felt so calm afterwards and new that all would be okay, she ended up having a fracture with some blood that they were worried about, so they kept her over night we stayed with Hannah most the night and then came back the next morning they did another Ct scan and the fracture was still there but there was no sign of the blood clot! I am so thankful for the power of the priesthood and the blessings that come with it, i knew Nixyn would be just fine and that our Heavenly Father watches over his children and comforts us when it is needed... These Nurses were the best, they took such good care of her in ICU and had the best since of humor ever! Thanks for everyone prayers Hannah did a great job blogging about it also but i wanted this one for me, and my journal. Now I'm ready to kick back and relax and enjoy the Summer (NOT)!!!!!

Exciting Things do Happen!!!

A couple of weekends ago Oscar and I went to Home Depot to get some summer flowers to plant, I have always wanted Gardenia's I know they are a hard flower to keep healthy but I thought heck i would give it a try, I had these flowers for my wedding and love how they smell!!! so after a few days of planting them, when I went out my door one morning there was this beautiful Gardenia I was so excited to see it, I really hope that my not so much green thumb will keep this plant alive. This made my whole day.. Marci I know you will appreciate this..

So I went to pick up Hallie from school and on our way home she all of sudden belted out "OUCH" and said what and she said something bit me and she saw what it was and seemed to be some kind of bug or spider then when she woke up the next morning it was all swollen and red and didn't seem to get any better. Well in the next picture and when I went again to pick her up after school she is there waiting with Ice on her finger and it was all swollen she was playing basketball and caught the ball wrong and this is what happen!!

So we ended up here at Urgent Care, if you ever need an urgent care this is the place to go! they are the best and it is so clean and the Dr. are great it is on Mckellips and almost to Horne and the name of it is Southwest Urgent care Dr. Shields in our ward recommend it to me when my Mom was not feeling to well, and when Oscar was sick, they are open until 8 Pm and I highly recommend anyone that needs after hour care to go there, we haven't got the results back from Hallie finger yet but lets just hope it was jammed instead of a fracture!!! it was a fun exciting week for us!!! oh and the spider bite they gave us an antibiotic for it so hopefully it will go away as of now it hasn't yet!!!

We had my Nephew, Dallen wedding luncheon a few weeks ago it was really nice and was a lovely evening at the reception, Congratulation Dallen and Malissa!

Then we had Oscar's spring sing, he was so cute and so EXCITED to sing his new song's they learned, I am sure if you look you can see him in this picture he was so good and was just singing his little heart out it was a great evening, thanks Oscar for being such a fun kid!!!

This is our good friend Cindy, she is such a trooper and a good supporter of events, she is in out Primary Presidency and seems to always and willing to go here and see the kids different events, thanks Cindy for coming with us, and for taking us to Golden Spoon were we had some peace and quite!!! NOT there were allot of kids there after the Spring Sing and it was CRAZY noisy... so that kinda sums are last few events and Hallie just reminded me that there was only sixteen more days till school is out!!! oh my

This is my WEAKNESS!!! I love the sound of opening a can of Diet Lime Pepsi in the early hours well 6:30 in the morning that is freezing cold just out of the fridge, Well Monday I decided that I was not going to have this temptation any more, its not good for me, it's something that i feel like I have to have at least two to three times a day, the best is when they come from Sonic with the good crushed Ice they have, but I had to tell myself that I don't need them anymore that it was just a want and a want that I could have anytime of the day, so I stop cold turkey!!! and let me tell you it was the worse thing ever, I had the most painful head pounding headache ever, it was to the point that i was Nashua it lasted for three and half days, after the first day i was so tempted to just forget about it and that the headache and grouchiness wasn't worth it but i knew i had to beat it and i did I am headache free after much Tylenol and so on, so now its just water with lime in it or my healthy drink that my sister gave me from Isagenix so if your think about quiting just have a good supplies of mead's around... I don't think i will do this again, but it will be surely missed while i am eating at a good Mexican food restaurant!!!

Today is Earth Day! I have never thought about celebrating Earth Day until one of my daycare Mom's who is on the ball with everything came in yesterday to pick up her kids and had brought me some green flowers and some fun activities to do with the kids today, she brought rubber snakes and spiders and then these cute little capsules that you put in water and then they grow into different creatures and then a coloring booklet for an earth birthday, so fun.. then I thought well i have to come up with something myself so after my walk this morning i went to Fry's and got some Oreo cookies and some little cups that just happen to be on clearence from Easter and then some gummy worms, We crushed the cookies and then put some worms in the cups and then put the crushed cookies on top with a worm poking out, the kids had so much fun and can't wait to take them home to share, Thanks Tamera for letting us have a Earth Day Party.. now I will have to do it all over again when Oscar gets home and see's all the fun we had!!!

A Fun Easter Day!

We had a great Easter Weekend, our weekend fun was suppose to start Friday afternoon and meet up with Hannah and her family and go camping, but when the clouds started to roll in Boyd decided it wouldn't be such a great idea to pack up and go known that we were headed to get some fine Easter weekend rain! which happened, so we backed out of going sorry Hannah and stayed and got all of our Easter/grocery shopping done for the week, Hallie was with Hannah camping and got rained out and headed home Sat afternoon, Saturday morning we had Easter breakfast at Boyd's parents house and a Easter egg hunt it was allot of fun and great food to eat! Mom and Dad shill gave everyone a nice plaque that said Family on it and some very cute Easter Cookies that Mom and Megan had made for everyone it was a fun morning and the kids had a great time. Saturday afternoon we decided to take the kids and go to the Mesa Museum to see the dinosaurs Oscar loved it they had some neat exhibits there, and some fun hands on like panning for Gold I think Oscar said he found Gold!!! I thought it was alittle pricey but the kids had fun and then after that we all went to El Charo such good food, we all had a great time with each other and it made the weekend a fun one despite our cancelled camping time...

This is why my family likes conference weekend, it seems that all you do is want to sit, relax and eat while conference is on and that is exactly what we did, not to mention the bowls of candy that were on the table. Conference was great and I felt that we all were edified I could listen to conference every Sunday they always have the best messages for me. Are lunch was the best we had grilled chicken taco's along with Cafe Rio sweet pork taco's (i do have the recipe) and really good Lime Rice and good salsa and toppings, Hannah made a very scrumptious moist almond poppy seed bunt cake it was very yummy and we can't leave out all the soda pop and drinks we had, it was a great day and fun day to spend with family, I feel like we live our life's around food and that food makes us happy but I must say there is alittle truth to that... Hope you all enjoyed Conference as much as we did!!

So here we go again another season of little league! Oscar loves to play and he practices so hard with his Dad and sometimes with Hallie and of course me his Mom! It is allot of fun to watch him this year, he is in machine pitch so its alittle more challenging then just hitting of the tee, and he is one of the youngest on his team but he does do well to keep up with the rest, so this is what will be occupying our time a couple nights a week but whats more better then to be with family and have a good time.. GO OSCAR!!!

This is my Entertainment before along with all my other living room furniture in the same color of wood, its been this way for 25 years and with a few cans of spray paint and $126.00 dollars later I feel like I have a whole new Living Room Furniture look, I love it and it makes me feel like I went out and bought all new furniture, here are some pictures.

Thank you Melissa for your talented ways and doing this for me, she is the best at spray painting, she does so even , I can't believe that a can of spray paint could make such a difference...

Here it is all finished, I had two end tables and I had Zac do those for me and he did a great job also, I know its going to show the dust alittle more but that's okay I can wipe them down everyday if I have too, now I'm asking myself why I didn't do this ten years ago or even a year ago, I guess it took some motivation and seeing my friend Sandy's Entertainment Center that Melissa had done for her, so If you want a new look and don't want to spend allot of money on new furniture, then grab ya some spray paint and have fun... took about three hours to do all and allot of paint fumes----and your happy the rest of the day.....

My little friends that I get to have everyday minus a couple who are on vacation, they are all wearing there little St. Patricks day antenna they had so much fun with them and can't wait to wear them home...

Then we played games and they had to go and find the pot of gold that I hid in the backyard, once they found it then they goThen we had shamrock cookies and made a leprechaun puppet to take home they love having t there own pot of gold candy that was wrapped in gold foil they thought that was so cool, don't we wish it could of been real.....

This was so much fun, we had green macaroni and cheese the expression on there face were so funny some were hesitant and said they didn't like broccoli, i had to reassure them that this was not broccoli that it was macaroni and that the Leprechaun made it for them, and then their were no problems of gobbling it down, it was fun and I think they all had fun at lunch, now there asleep and now I can clean up... This has got to be the happiest, fun loving, best imagination and caring little guy I know, he amazes all of us with his since of humor.. He loves Rocky Point he has been going there ever since he was a baby and knows that this is were we celebrate his Birthday I think he would live there if he could.. It was so funny this morning when he woke up to a Breakfast Jack kids meal (his favorite) he said mom I think I grew taller last night cause I'm turning seven!!! he makes us laugh and has the cutest little smile ever, if you seen his smile he has had two teeth missing since he was two and now he has just lost his other front tooth so he has this big gap in the front and he can't say he's "S" very well (priceless) WE love you Oscar and we hope you have a great day.... Last night we had our ward "elmwoodstock" 60's-70's party, I might say it was allot of fun and there were so many people that dressed up, i wished my camera didn't crash on me or i would have had allot more pictures, the food was great the decorations were awesome and everyone seemed to be having a great time, those that didn't come missed out! My brother in-law's band played and they were great everyone was dancing and really getting into it, the best part was watching everyone dance moves, and yes I did remember some of mine and I even got Boyd out on the dance floor so that was allot of fun.. If you want to hear a great band and have fun just call Ron..(I'm sure he liked me putting that in here! the music the moves all brought some fun memories back in the 70's for me...i just don't remember anyone wearing the flower pants....might i add that we both won a Pete's fish and chips shirt for me answering the right question and Boyd for what he was wearing not very many people knew who he was, it was so funny... i guess there just use to that bald head of his...

A fun day at the Park

So today we went to the park and let the kids fish and then had a BBQ it was a little chillie but it was allot fun, Oscar caught two fish a blue gill and also a trout he was so excited and now proved to his dad that he can fish and now the two of them can go more often with out interruptions like getting the line all tangle up. Hallie had fun and was patiently waiting for her bite maybe next time she loves to fish though, Hannah and Billy and there family came and Av had a great time running around feeding the ducks, my camera died when i went to go take pictures and I didn't have an extra battery pack that was needed to be charged. It was a fun day and we will most likely be going back more often.

Today we had our Valentines Party, the kids were so excited and I was trying to be!!lol we made these cute little bags so they could fill them all up with there Valentines Goodies that they got from there little friends and then we sang songs (shhh Hannah) and played Hokie Pokie they had a blast and then for lunch we had Heart Shaped sandwichs with strawberry jam and a red apple and red chips and of course a cupcake with a red squeeze it to wash it all down, now they are napping and now I can go and clean my house, and then I will go to dinner with Boyd at a New Mexican food place on 7th and McDowell i will all let you know if it was worth the drive and how the food was.. what a busy day it was for me, and I will look forward to have a three day weekend...

Because of this culprit (a toothpick) led Oscar to urgent care, Sunday after the super bowl Oscar was playing in the playroom kicking a balloon and happen to kick a toothpick and it landed in his baby toe! well he pulled it out and Boyd looked to see if there was any splinters left in his toe, he pulled a few, put peroxide on it and we thought good to go, little did we know, that we ended up in Urgent Care Tuesday night cause it looked alittle infected and I didn't want to mess with infection!

So this is the BRAVE little guy who sat there while they stuck a needle in his toe, so they could slice it open a little to see if there was any wood left in his toe! they didn't see any, so it led to this

Oscar had to get a BIG dose of Antibiotic right in his Buttocks!!! which led to this

Having to soak his foot FOUR times a day for four days along with taking a oral antibiotic for ten days, and proping it up and stays home from school for two days.. I didn't think a toothpick could do such harm, but the Dr. said our bodies do not take to organic substance like wood and it because of the bacteria that could of been on it, he had a red streak going up his foot that the Dr. showed us which is a sign of infection which is not good, non the less I'm just glad we felt like it should be looked at and that we listened to our feelings of going! They are an awesome urgent care if anyone has a need for after hours they are on Mckellips and Mesa Dr. and is called Southwest Urgent Care! they are very nice and I really like the Dr. there and I would go back in a heart beat!!!! Thank you Dr. Bingham for taking such good care of Oscar...

And this was the place were we celebrated, and it was most delious.. Boyd's actual Birthday was the 19th but it was a conflict beings that it was MLK day(NOT) No we just had to wait till the weekend so everyone all could go, it was a fun night watching the boys trying to out do the other by putting away the food, I pretty sure everyone was pretty stuffed by the time we left, I love having all my family together and I am so glad that we all get along great with each other and can laugh and have fun, Just want Boyd to know how much he is loved and glad we could all celebrate his day with him... We also wish Hannah good luck little Nixyn will be here on Monday. I was so glad that today I was able to go over to Hannah's and help her with her house so everything would be good to go when she came home from the hospital, I loved it when my own Mom helped out to relieve some of the pressure because we all know what it is like being pregnant and ready to pop and to try and clean your house its alittle overwhelming and it was a privilege to give Hannah some help, now hopefully she will get a good nights rest and be all rested up for the Big day...

My Sweet Dad!!!!

So last night Boyd and I were out to dinner and then went to Sam's club and on the way home we got a call that the Paramedics were at my parents home, so we hurried over there to find that my dad was not feeling good and experiencing some chest pain and nausea, My sweet mom was so calm and they were working on my dad, and then one by one each family member showed up at there house, they took him to Desert Banner and called his Dr. my dad has a great Dr. and he was not on call and was home enjoying pictures of his son's trip that he recently got home and got the call that Mr. Prince was in the ER he told his son that the picture would have to wait that he knew he had to get to the hospital to see this man, the Dr. preceded to tell us that he knew he had to be there to do a proceedur on dad and that if the dr that was on call had worked on my dad that he would of not known exactly were the blockage was cause my dad has some funky arteries and they would of not gone far enough, so this dr came in and did the procedure and put a stint in my dad's main artery, he said it was 99% percent blocked and that he did have a heart attack at home but it did not do any major damage to his heart, he then told us that if we would of waited my dad would of had a major heart attack and would of not been with us today, I want to thank Dr. Atcar for knowing my dad's heart and for coming in to help him, my dad had a wonderful blessing and we knew that he was being watched over and it was not his time to go, he is the ICU as of now and will be moved to a room hopefully tomorrow, I am so thankful for prayer and thankful that my dad is still here with us today, he is the sweetest man you will ever know who loves his family and my mom very much, his children were all there minus my oldest sister who lives in Utah, it was great to have family there and to know how close we are all.. we love you Dad and know that you are still needed here to be with your family....

First it was Lost then 24 and now Prison Break!!! My Mom got all three episodes for Christmas and Boyd and I started the first one Friday night and I might have to say it was a big mistake!! oh my not only is he nice to look at and those eyes, killer I seem to think that this is all there is to do now and can't wait to put in the next disk, I can't believe i sacrifice my sleep to stay up and watch this, but they are so good and yes they have sucked me in to want to finish now to the end.. I recommend this to everyone who would like to save some money on the weekends and pop a little popcorn and some treats and sit and lose yourself to Prison Break!!!! not to mention the 24 has started again and yes i did record it and then Lost next week.. can I not feel to guilty about watching all this if I do some Ensign reading during the day and of course my scriptures will that take the guilt away from having this addiction I think it will, but it has been fun watching and I have my brothers, cousins and my two boys to thank for getting us started... Try it you might like it!!! (ooh that sounded so bad)!!! so I guess if you try to call my house between 7 and 12 I might not answer till were done with this episode.......

First off I would like to thank Marci for introducing me to this fabulous dish, oh my gosh Marci it was the best and i will be making it again... Then I added a great Spanish Rice dish that my friend Kathy gave me it was so good and so easy to make, Lets just say it was a great dinner and my Family loved it , I will share the Rice recipe with you all and if you want to try the enchiladas then you need to visit my good friend Marci Blog....

Spanish Rice
Saute an onion in a little oil till brown then add 1 1/2 cups of long grain rice and brown, add one can of stewed tomatoes and 1 can of Chicken Broth and sliver some green peppers and add.. bring all to a boil and then simmer till done..(if the rice appears to look a little dry then add a small amount of water or more broth..

So for the last Month we have had this Chicken -Rooster -Hen who knows wondering around our house, we have no idea where it came from or who's it is but it seems to like us, so being the kind person that Boyd is he went and got some feed at the local feed barn store and now feeds this chicken on our carport along with the millions of Pigeons that smell the food also. I can tolerate the chicken but hate the pigeons, mainly the mess they leave behind.. so someone told us if we put a bucket on it's side and set an egg in it and set it outside that the chicken (or what ever) will see it and do the same! so if any of you know if that is true let me know, so I guess we can now say we have a pet and it is sort of entertaining......

These are just a few of some of the events that happen during Christmas Break, First off we had a wonderful Christmas and one that will always be close to my heart, We had a wonderful Adult Christmas Dinner at my Sister's Janene and Ralphs home it was fun to have all mu sisters and brother's there with lots of memories that were shared and especially being able to spend another Christmas with my Parents, Then we had Christmas Breakfast at my Moms and all of her siblings pitched in this year and helped her with the cooking, Lida and I were in charge of the eggs and we well our husband cooked five dozen eggs! we had hash brown, sausage, pancakes and orange juice, then we had the privilege of being invited to go to Rocky Point and to give some of our service to help build homes for some families down there "Families helping Families" Ralph asked if we would like to help with the big party that he will give to all the people that participated in the project and make some of our chimichanga's and cheese crisp of course I would want to do this and we also were able to help with the building of the homes (Boyd and Zac) they had a great time and it is the coolest thing knowing that someone that has been living in next to nothing will have the privilege of having a home of there own. Boyd was not having any calls for interviews so we thought we would go down and help out, instead of being at home and probably driving each other in sane and worrying if the phone would ring, plus he got to do some physical work that was much needed for him to wart of some stress.... so we made 150 Chimi's and 72 cheese crisp, and a big bowl of guacamole and some of his delicious mango salsa.. it was allot of fun and the kids had a great time being there, Thank you Ralph for letting is be there to help.. This is a amazing Family Project and if you want a neat experience with your family i highly suggest you do this one year it is really neat and just seeing all these families work together to get these houses done..

" A Christmas Angel"

Where do I start.. I am writing this for myself and my emotions are high.. This morning when i was going out the door to take Oscar to the bus stop there was something that caught my eye as i open the door, A Christmas Angel came and visited the Shill home, things have been alittle not so going our way this year Boyd was layed off back in July and then found work and then was layed off again in November so its been a crazy year, But I know trials our good and I am not angry, Heavenly Father has a plan for all and if I get angry I am not following his plan, well to our surprise this Quad was at the end of our walkway with a bow on it with a few other very nice things attached with a sweet note that said "Because you were all so very good this year, I asked the elves to work extra hard to give you your presents early.. Merry Christmas Love, Santa Clause ho ho ho.... It was way to touching words can't express there were many tears and a prayer in my heart that who ever this kind person or persons were that they and there family would be blessed ten fold.. The look in Oscar and Hallie eyes were priceless and I will always remember this and hope someday I can do the same.. Thank you Santa we love you the Shills..

So this afternoon I was busy in the kitchen getting ready to fix dinner, still had daycare children here minding my own business when Zac walked in the house and said "Mom what is going on outside the house" So I went and looked and this is what I Saw! So of course I grabbed my camera and Zac grabbed his and we started taking pictures through the window, we were a little amused I must say! So this Lady (which i thought was a man at first) was sitting on the sidewalk, well of course it was the perfect time to take out some trash as i walked outside i heard the Police officer ask her "why did you try to run from the policeman, well she denied ever so doing that, then they had her come over to our driveway and they gave her a sobriety test! yep and as they were telling her to put one foot in front of the other she proceeded to PEE herself on my driveway! well they kept asking her questions and what her name was and she kept saying "you know what my name is you have my insurance card" well obvious she was drunk!!!!! I guess she side swiped a car and then took off and the police were right behind her.. as i was seeing this all happen in my driveway i really did feel sorry for her and thought she probably lives by herself and has no one to take care of her, I wanted in my heart to take her some dry clothes to put on (it was freezing outside) but knew I cannot interfere with the Law.. when i looked out again they had her in handcuffs and the tow truck was loading her car on the ramp, well the officers never knock at my door to tell me there was pee on my driveway (i know rude huh) so i went and sprayed it all off after they left.. and then i was telling the men of my house that i felt sorry for her, and especially being so close to Christmas. And then Zac and Boyd and well myself said she shouldn't be driving on the road and dangering someone else's life so it was a good thing that the officer's did what they did...To protect and to serve......

Monday was Hallie's last concert for the year, she is in the Vivace Vocalist and has absolutely loved it , she has had allot of fun being in the same class with allot of her friends, a few weeks ago she was ready to be done with choir and was looking forward to be in an art class next semester but after this concert she had a change of heart and wants to continue it next semester as well, I guess if you quit then next year when she is in 8th grade you have to start at the beginning again and she would really like to move up to the next group, we are proud of you Hallie and have enjoyed going to hear you sing...Thanks Hannah and Zac for coming and enjoying it with us..just think you have next year to look forward too also...

Here he is the boy we have been waiting for, for two years to be here for Christmas and to bring laughter into all the Holiday events take place during Christmas with our families.. by the time we were all done and Zac was out the door, Our house took last place and Hallie and Oscar were not liking this evening, but all and all it was a blast and we had a great time and we are so thankful that we have Zac here to celebrate this Christmas Time with us... despite the Gingerbread house making.....

So today was Hallie's Big day! She finally got her BRACES on and I think she was pretty miserable afterwards.. So we had the Shill Family annual Nativity with the Grandchildren (note there are none of my older Children participating) hum wonder why maybe of age difference.. But Zac did get to read a few scriptures for us, But we still get to have Oscars participate in the events, so fun and many laughs and the longest Nativity that I've been to, but the Little ones had fun and I was so worried that our Baby Jesus was going to get trampled and we had an upset Shepperd and a very handsome wise man and some gorgeous Angels and and very cute Mary, it was a fun night and it will even be more fun as the family grows.....

So this might not be the most proper post! This is not the order that I really wanted, but its late and I'm tired but I wanted to get some pictures posted, It was a great evening and I know that allot think that Disneyland is the Happiest place on earth well the airport was the Happiest Place on Earth, It was so exciting to see Elder Shill, he looked great and we all couldn't get enough of him, time we got home from the Airport it was after ten, he had a great homecoming with a lot of family and friends there to see him (more pictures to come) we have great friends that brought in some delicious smoked ribs and sauce they were the best, I even had to hide some or they would of been all gone and then we had Tamales and then Claude Adams brought four big box's of

Pet's Fish and Chips over with sauce it was great and many feasted upon all the food, it was a late night and by the time all his friends left it was 1:30 in the morning, then Zac came into our room and we all sat on the bed and chatted for another hour it was great and it was great to have that time alone with him, the next day was just as busy which was nice for him to keep busy and then last night he was released from his Mission and that was a very emotional moment and now he is off with his friends, it was a lot of fun and we are excited to have him back in our home.

The Signs are out! Still need to get balloons, clean house, shower and get ready and feeling a little over whelmed but I will be ready to get into the Truck and head to the airport, One of my sweet day care moms brought me some flowers this morning, she is not a member of our Church but has followed Zac through his Mission and was just as excited as I was thank you Tamera... I am feeling just a little nervous and anxious so with those feelings I am sure the day will go by allot slower then I would wish for.. I told my little daycare kids that today they have to be extra good to help me get through the next few hours.. Thank you Kathy for getting the idea together and getting together to make these signs, I knew those left over throw away elections signs would come in handy for something and they will be used not only for Zac but for Elder Pew and Elder McNeil, yes we did some recycling... well you know I will be updating and posting picture later... SO EXCITED!!!!

I just got home from the store and a Friend of mine sent this to me, I thought this was really nice with what all is happening in L A and everywhere. Thanks Marilynn..

This is uplifting after all the horrible things we have seen and heard about prop 8 and the Mormons lately.

Proposition 8 is now a part of the California constitution!
That is probably the best news from an otherwise difficult election for conservatives and Republicans. In very large part, we Evangelicals must thank our Mormon cousins for that fact. They, along with our Catholic brethren, were better organized than us and that provided a base from which we could ALL work together to get this job done. What more, as we have chronicled here, Mormons took the brunt of the abuse, derision, and even threats of physical harm that came with this effort.
And like us, they have given thanks to the Almighty that is ultimately in control, even if their understanding of that Almighty is a bit diffrent than ours.
I cannot help but wonder how much more thankful we ALL might be today if we had been more willing to embrace these religious cousins a few months ago - but alas, politics is always about governing today and looking forward to the next election.

In the battle for the family, however, traditional Christians have no better friends than the Mormon faithful. It would be wrong if that support were taken for granted. We are intolerant of the false attacks on Mormon faith and family. We stand with our Mormon friends in their right to express their views on the public square. We celebrate the areas, such as family values, where we agree.
A heart felt thank you may not win points from other friends who demand one hundred percent agreement from their allies, but it is the decent and proper thing to do.

Hard to do better than that. The "Ruth Youth" ministry proclaimed yesterday "International Mormon Appreciation Day." Very appropriate, yet still inadequate.
In addition to our thanks, Mormons deserve our protection. They have been oppressed in ways during the Prop 8 campaign that this nation has not seen since the 1960's and the civil rights movement. The rhetoric has been deplorable, but moreover. we have seen instances of vandalism, property destruction, and some leaders in the fight currently find themselves with armed protection because of the threats made against them and their families.
Our nation will not and cannot tolerate this sort of behavior - it is incumbent on all of us to stand against it, and the best way to do that is to stand between the Mormons and the forces that would perpetrate such evil.
Now I am sure the Mormons can, and probably want, to take care of themselves, but as a Christian, it is my duty to protect the innocent and free the oppressed. To turn a blind eye in this circumstance is not only ungracious, it is simply unChristian.
Make all the theological distinctions you want, but in the political arena we are yoked with the Mormons (he said borrowing some religious imagery) and it is darn well time we started acting like it.
Absolutely, positively thank the Mormons - but don't stop there. Stand up and be counted against the evil that has been perpetrated towards them in this campaign.
As Christians we can do no less.

For Family and Friends, Just thought I would let you know that Elder Shill will be home Monday evening and that he will also report his Mission on Sunday the 23rd at 11:00, we are so excited that he will be home shortly, it has been a great two years for our family and we will deeply miss getting those fun and up lifting emails from him each Monday morning along with some fun pictures, I feel at a lost and have mixed emotions as his Mission comes to an end, but I feel we have been so blessed as a family and we have grown from both Mission's from our Boys, now Men (I hope).. We love you Elder Shill and can hardly wait till Monday to come, see you soon..

We got to chaperone the Youth Dance!

So on Saturday Boyd and I were asked to be chaperone's for the Stake Youth Dance and all I can say is WOW!!! No really actually it was fun, what made it fun was to see all the youth having fun and seeing all the new dance moves that I am so unfamiliar with, It did make your feet start taping on the floor to the music and brought back some fine memories, things have changed, they actually go out and have fun on the dance floor and they were not afraid to ask to dance, and there would be girls and boys out there dancing by themselves it was a hoot, I have to say I did enjoy the music and I knew that my daughters time was coming.. that's if she will go, after going I think i will encourage her to do so everyone was having fun and we had no problems to deal with. well except for one, one of the couples that we were with was nominated to go break up a couple that was alittle to close for comfort (bear hug) remember those days I think it was sorta legal in our times.. after he talked to them he did get a look from the both of them of being a little upset, but they were good to go the rest of the night, I will have to be honest we weren't to excited about spending our Saturday night doing that well I should Mr. Boyd wasn't but after we got there it ended up being a fun night with lots of laughing , I even tried to get Boyd to go out and do some moves!!! Not Going to Happen!!! but it was all well worth the night spent...

Thank you Boyd, These have to be the most gorgeous Roses ever, Boyd brought home a dozen Roses on Thursday and today when I took some picture they still look as fresh as they did when he brought them home, they have a name and are called the "Old Dutch" they look very Vintage so pretty , at first I had to laugh to myself when I saw the name "Old Dutch" and I thought hum is he referring to me as being "OLD" I've never seen Roses like this before, and I will cherish them until the next time.. Love you Boyd and thank you for making my day special...

26 years ago Boyd and I were married in the Arizona Temple, I was the last of the five daughters my Mom and Dad had. As you can tell I had to scan these pictures that could probably tell you how old we are I don't think they had digital camera back then. It has been a great and fun and sometime bumpy road but I am so thankful for my sweetheart and all that he does for me and our children and especially for helping me endure what I had to go through these last four years, I love you Boyd and hope to have another 26 years more years with you, We have no big plans but to go to the Temple this evening , I couldn't think of a better place I would rather go then to go back to the place were we were married... The only thing that will be different is that we look alittle older okay allot older......

Sorry Marci I had to throw this in, as you can see my line was long all with sister's and two sister-in law, so Marci got to be at my guest book, thanks Marci for being there, I don't think they have guest book friends anymore....

Viva Mexico here I come! Zac said he had a surprise for us at the airport when he gets home, hum I'm wondering if this could be it.....

So Elder Shill and Elder Arnett were able to go to the Pyramids on Friday and said that is was way cool he said that the pyramid was built in representation of Jesus Christ and inside are two smaller pyramids that only the the priesthood holders could go into.. He said it was very interesting and he was able to be an interpreter to the guide.. oh ya the pictures with the girls...Zac said they asked if they could get there picture taken with him and Elder Arnett.. I was wondering why they had such big smiles on there faces....

Zac said the whole Temple was covered in those snake heads, but it got destroyed, he said it was very cool.. So We finally got his flight and arrival time I was so excited when they called from the Mission home, I think they were a little late getting the information out but the time is getting close.. he gets home on the 17th and will be with us again at 8:57 in the evening, Last night I was thinking about the time that he has been gone and thought to myself it has really gone by fast it seems like forever the first six months but I can't believe how fast it has gone, it will fun to have him home, Zac brings allot of laughter and fun in our home it will be interesting to see how long he will stay.....and now we have to look forward to our next Missionary Oscar in thirteen years! wow that seems forever, hope we still here and kicking....

Oscar had so much fun, he got to go trick or treating with his cousin Preston, they had the best time and they both got to go to a Haunted House. lets just say Oscar opt not to go in and Preston was a trooper and went in it was so funny and they both had the best time together..

Here is my sweet Dad, now this is what I call living it up on Halloween night, what could be better then being on a nice Lazy boy with the remote right in your hand.... This is what I wanted to do Halloween night..

My brother Mike s such a trooper he is always helping out when needed and might I add always having the right thing to fix broken things, Oscar's sword broke at the handle, so I asked Mike if he had any electrical tape ( I say duck tape) and instead of taping it he gets out his screws and such and puts it all back together without any tape.. Thanks Mike for putting a smile on Oscar's face...

And then I asked her how many Grandchildren she had and she said that Oscar was her 53rd and no one has had anymore after him! I told her it was because no one could TOP him!!! Okay I can do bragging rights since this is my blog... after she told me all that I was exhausted and told I don't know how you do it, we have allot of fun and I love my family very much!!!

Elder Arnett and Zac decided to make these spears out of this stick and hike up this huge mountain and go on a SNAKE hunt! luckily they did not see or spear any snakes, but had a good time and then both sat there and reflected on the last two years, he said it was a great day...

This week Zac was so lucky to be able to go to the Mexico Temple, they are getting ready to dedicate this Temple so he was able to be there and take people on tours through the Temple, while he was there he saw a familiar bus pull up and a family that he taught when he first got to Mexico was in that bus and the saw Zac and ran over and gave him a BIG HUG! Zac was so excited to see them, they will be going through the Temple to be sealed in December, Zac said it was all worth the Two years to see them and hear the GREAT NEWS!

Can you believe this!!!!!!! This is a chart that I started when Zac left I am sure it is very familiar with some of you, when I first started this I thought this is going to take FOREVER to fill these little squares up and it seemed like it would be forever doing, and then now look at it there is about 17 squares left to fill that is so exciting for me and it has been such a great experience for us all to have Zac be on his Mission, he has grown so much along with us, it amazes me how much they mature over two years, I think about when he left and how nervous he was and how much he knew he needed to learn over these next two years, and then once he was gone and then letters started coming I could tell that he was grasping so much of the Gospel and loving every minute of it, I have never heard him complane the whole time he has been out he has loved every minute of his mission and he said he wouldn't trade the last two years for anything, Sometimes I wished that I could of had the privilage of serving a Mission just for all the knowledge of scriptures and where they are to be found in the Book of Morman, We were just challenge this past six month from our Stake President to read the Book of Morman and I did take that challenge to heart and I did finish it a couple of days ago, I really did enjoy it this time and understood allot better this round, I am anxious to open it up again and start all over, maybe this will help me to get over my fear when someone ask me were a certain scripture is, maybe i will be able to tell them instead of asking someone else!!!! I am thankful for Missionaries and the sacrifices that thy make for themselves for two years.. We Love you Elder Shill

What a fun Surprise!!!!

What a fun surprise for me tonight! We have had a pretty busy day from working in the yard to planting flowers then grocery shopping, Halloween costume shopping and then we a had our Ward trunk or treat party.. So after all the events today and After we had got home there was a knock at our door, and their was a sweet sister in our ward with this bag in her had and she gave me a hug and said that she couldn't help but think of me with all the pink that was in the store so she put alittle bag of treats together for me! We call her on the ball sister in our ward she is a very thoughtful person and has it all together.. some of you might know Becky and if you do she is a get it done person... Thank you Becky for thinking about me today... and then Boyd comes home with a Quart size jar on hot sauce that he got from a lady that was selling it to raise money for Breast Cancer! I am so amazed with all the things that they have in stores now for Breast Cancer awareness, sometimes I have to walk by it and pretend I don't see it, I don't know why I have this reaction, I think it makes me go back to the first time I found out and hope that I don't have to ever go through that again and if I pretend not to see these items in the store then I think I pretend i never had it, But then I have to remind myself how much I have learned from having it and how sometimes trials are good, and we have them for a reason, and how thankful that I am for Family and friends who were always there for me cheering me on and for a husband that stood by my side and for my children to help me and comfort me and for me to know that I will fight this for them and then to be blessed with the cutest grand kids and a full head of hair that came back curlier and thicker, So all this pink in the stores are good and I can say to myself I am one of those survivors... Thank you Becky for giving me such a cute bag field with fun things.... And thank you to a Father in Heaven who gave me this trial and how I have learned many things from it....

I think they will approve, So pleased to see the first report cards that came out and to see that Hallie did a great job so far this school year, I know she deffently does not get this from her Mother it could be from her Dad but I also know she has some Uncles that are pretty darn smart.. just alittle SHOUT out for her, and want her to know how proud we are of her and how hard she studies and is so good about getting all her work done on her own.... WAY AGO HALLIE!!!!

Great Time in Rocky Point to Celebrate Dad and Mom's B-day-Anniversery!

Happy Birthday/Anniversary Dad and Mom, I'm so thankful for these two people in my life, who have taught me many things, We had the privilege of having all of Mom and Dad's children in Rocky Point this weekend to celebrate with them their 62 wedding Anniversary, it was a great time and the best was when we sat around in the evening and we all reminisced of when we were all growing up and the example that they had set for us, we laughed and cried and sang (thank goodness the singing did get recorded) it was fun to be around all my sisters and brothers and i hope we can do it again real soon, the weather was perfect and the water was warm and clear, and yes there was a variety of bathing beauties on the beach it was quite the site to see, sorry you all missed it... and sorry there's no pictures!! I love my parents so much and I am so grateful to have them in my life... Love ya Dad and Mom...

This was a dead crab that Oscar found, he had the best time ever and also was able to touch a baby hammer head shark, I didn't have my camera at the time, but one of the Local's there that rents out Jet Ski's found the shark over by the Riff quite a ways from us, but my thought was if there is a baby then there is a mama somwhere, but he said that it probably got tangled up in the shrimp boats neating and washed to shore, he said it was only alive for about an hour, but it was so cool and it felt like rubber, Oscar wanted to buy it from him and take it home! Ha so sorry.....

And so then the drama happens, yep my camera flipped out and this is what the rest of the weeks pictures looked like I was so thinking this was not cool I had some of the best pictures with my family and just some fun ones on the beach, i guess it is time for a new camera, I was so bummed..

This is Elder Shill sitting in the home of a members and Zac was watching her knit and asked if she would show him how.. and she said sure okay so the next picture is what Zac learned how to do and was so proud of himself he said he made two for him and one for vance.. its a camo beenie he said so when he goes hunting he will have something to keep his head warm.... i don't think it will keep his head warm! what do you think... i think there are one to many big holes, he said it was fun to learn and it gave him something to do in the evenings when they were done teaching, i think he is getting alittle trunkie to come home and thought this would take his mind off of it....

We meet the nicest people these last few days, they own a restaurant called Cafe Laguna on Power road, I want you to go to there web site and see their YUMMY food it looks so delious! Last week Elder Shill was able to go into the big City of Mexico! These are some of the pictures that he was able to take, along with Alielieh getting baptised.. these are the pictures his Zone that always played futbal with each other, his District and there last time that they were all with each other, in front of the Bellas Arts a big Art Museum in Mexico, in front of the Cathedral a HUGE Catholic Church and of course had to get a picture of Zac in front of the Holly Water! and then going to the Mexican Zoo, he had a great time and next week he will get to go visit all the pyramids, he can't wait not to much longer and he will be flying home! can't Wait!!!!

So I was the lucky Grandma and was able to watch Vance for Camie and Willie while they working Friday and Saturday, what a fun time we had and what a great baby Vance is, he loved his bath time and rub down and Oscar had fun helping and watching the whole time.. Thanks Willie and Camie for letting us have this cute little boy on Fri and Sat... we might have to tell Grandma Sevey that she needs to go out of town more often!

HAD A "PEACH" OF A TIME

This is so exciting for me! I bought a box of Peaches and they were the best, knowing that we could not possibly eat them all I thought it would be fun for me to learn how to make JAM! So a good friend of mine Kathy McNeil came over and taught me how to do it, it was the easiest thing ever to do I am alittle ashamed that I have taken so long in my life to learn how to make this simple pleasure, they turned out so yummy and pretty not to mention that it past the taste test with Mr Boyd, I guess you could call me a late learner, but I think i will be doing this often now, I will share with you this recipe but for all you other talented Jam makers you probably already know it!

You start out with peeling the peaches first and then you put them in the blender until you have four cups of blended peaches, then you pour that into a pan on the stove and add two cups of sugar and stir and then once it starts to boil you continue stirring for 20 min. after your done doing that then you take the flavor of jello that you want to add to it, these were my flavors, tropical fruit, red raspberry, strawberry, orange and then i thought cherry peach would be interesting.. so you add one container of jello stir and then pour into your jars, on batch will fill two pint jars... boil the flat part of the lid and then put both lids together and twist them onto the jar... so easy and fun and there is no freezing or nothing then just put them on your shelf and enjoy later.... Thank you Kathy for showing me how to finally make Jam.....

So the story goes... Boyd and I and the kids headed up to the Rim this weekend to do some fishing at Bear Mountain, It started off to be a fun weekend we had Willie with us and once we got to Payson his friend Josh was there to pick him up so Willie could help him with his Elk hunt, we ate dinner spent the night in the "Bates Motel" okay not really but cheap hotel because this was going to be a fun cheap get away.. woke up Saturday morning went to the friendly Walmart to get some treats and of course some WORMS mind you for our fun day at the lake.. meanwhile my brother Robert and his family and my Brother in-law Ron and his family were all camping at Bear Mountain so the plan was to go by and visit them and then go do some family fun fishing.. we made it to the camp and enjoyed being with everyone and then it was time to go fishing..Sooooo Boyd looked all over in the back of the truck for the WORMS in fact took everything out, went through all the bags NO Worms looked to see if Oscar had put them inside the truck no Worms.. so I looked on my receipt to see if they even charged us for the Worms and yes there was the charge but no WORMS.. ugh.. I was so mad and all I could picture in my mind was this man at Walmart with this happy cheerie smile on his face who did not give us the bag with the WORMS in it.....needless to say Hallie and Oscar were bummed, but then something happen that was so exciting for all to see, we hear the quad coming and see that there is something on the front of it, and here came Jaquelyn, Preston, Jay and Ron all on one quad with the biggest smiles ever... SO Jaquelyn Shot her FIRST Bull ELK and I might say it was a nice one, she was grinning ear to ear with joy it was so fun for all the little cousin to see and for us too, so we got some good pictures of her.. if any of you know Jaquelyn she is the expert at Bass Pro and can help any one to learn how to tie fly's for fishing, they had a big article on her in the news paper a month ago, she is amazing young women with lots of ambition we are so proud of her, did I mention she shot it with her BOW and she is only 19. What ago Jaquelyn... And then here is my poor sister in-law Laura she is a trooper, broke her foot a couple of weeks ago in Payson on a Quad ride with her family but still continues to be there to support her family, all and all we had a great time and look forward to get some more worms and do some fishing... And maybe go back to Walmart and maybe I should give that happy gentelmen a Worm or too....

5 Surgries and the Finish Touch

Actually this post is for me! It might bore some of you that don't know me, and it might be to long for blog hoppers to read... It is time for me to express some of my feelings of things that has happen to me and my family, It will almost be four years since this event took place in our life's. There are are Six people I want to thank 1st my Father in Heaven for giving me the instinct that i needed to know there was something wrong with my Breast, I will admit I did put off those feelings for a few months and when they became stronger is when i needed to be checked, 2nd The Late Dr. Brinkerhoff for being so wise and telling me what needs to be done and the feelings that I was going to feel after a mastectomy, I was scared not just alittle but allot, 3rd My family for supporting me with all the prayers and fasting that a person could ask for, I truly felt everyone prayers and I knew that I was not alone, this was scary for everyone and some of my family members had to endure their faith that all would be well.. 4th Dr. Cavelcant my Oncologist who was there for me every minute and telling me that this is what i needed to do, from loosing all my hair from wearing a wig during the Hot summer for my children who had to see there mom with no hair and was not ashamed for a husband that loved me no matter what i looked like, and at one time this was fun for the both of us with Bald heads it was a site to see and then down to my eyebrows and eyelashes to having no body hair (this was nice, there was no shaving for quite awhile) and still today takes care of me with my check up every six months, sometimes it is hard for me to walk down that hall and into the office, the smell of Chemo does something to my head and it is not easy for me to walk into there, my blood work that still needs to be done and daily medicines i still need to take, but thankful that i am still here with my family. 5th Dr. Cassey at the Meyo Clinic and the absolutely best reconstructive Dr. around, he was the most caring person and wanted to make sure i was happy with all that would have to be done, that alone was a long recovery for me but a good one because, what was taken from me and something that you grow up with and is a part of your life and your children's nourishment was all of a sudden gone and i felt very ugly and i felt like what had happen to me was a constant reminder its hard to explain what one feels during all that time and how i hated to try to make shirts and my dresses look right with out the fear of something falling out that wasn't permanent, Dr. Cassey was great and made me feel and look great he did two surgeries on me to get it just right, I know that it can't look perfect but what he did was perfect in my eyes it amazes me that you can take something that was nothing and make it into what you use to have, he then did instruct me to finish the look of the breast when he was all done which had to be done at a later time which i let this lasp for longer then what i should of, but was so tired of all the surgeries and all the Dr. appts and really wanted to be done with this point of me so i did, i let it lasp for almost two years and this is the next person i need to thank a Sister in my Ward Holly is a permanent make- up artiest who is out of this world, and called me one day and said that she was finishing her last part of school to do finishing touches on women who have been through Breast Cancer and reconstructive surgery's and asked me if I had this procedure done and had heard that i haven't done the finishing touches and told me that her instructor would be in town and if she could do this for me, I was alittle surprised at first and at the same time was excited that she had asked me, it helped me put that bug in my head that i needed to get this breast finished up so it will all look how it is suppose to look, So I called her back and told her yes, well she was amazing and was so professional, she called it tattooing so this was actually a first for me! ha, I will have a few more follow up appt. with Holly and then this part of my life will be complete, thank you Holly for getting me to this point and making me feel like a women again.. It was fun to come home and know that i won't look in the mirror and feel different again, and was so excited get to show off my first tattoo to Boyd and hear him say "WOW", was all worth it, Thank you to all my Dr's, friends and Family for putting up with me these last 4 years and most of all thank you to a Father in Heaven who loves me and gives me certain trials to strengthen me each day..... I hope someday I can close this chapter in my life and be all done with Dr's....

All Grown Up!

There something about having one of your kids out of town and missing them and then you want to say something about them. Yesterday Hallie went camping with my Brother and his kids she loves to camp and have fun, but I was feeling a little sad because I didn't get back in time to give her a kiss good-bye and hug, to me that is important and I feel all sad inside when it doesn't happen, But this is where I am glad that cell phones come in handy, she called me and told me she was on her way and I got to tell her that I was sorry I wasn't home to tell her good-bye and to be careful and to wear her sit belt (everyone's worries, I hope) but we got to talk and say I love you in the end so it was all good for me.. I cannot believe how much this girl has grown up in the last year she has become quite the women she is the tallest of all my girls that would mean Hannah and myself and she has changed the most since Zac left, she is a very caring and creative and neat in appearance, good example to her friends and won't leave the house till everything is perfect kind of girl, she loves her niece and nephew and is the best babysitter around (thanks to her mom's teaching's) ha. We love her and will miss her this weekend

I'm am feeling alittle sad that these Missionary Moments will be coming to an end soon, and Elder Shill will be home.. I have enjoyed these last two years it's been so fun to read his letters and watch him grow and how it has blessed our family, I will have a pretty big gap before I will be sending the next Shill Missionary out and I can honestly say that I will be looking forward to that day.. Zac has loves his Mission and has expressed how much he is going to miss the people of Mexico and the things that he has seen and the people that he has talked too. These are some of the pictures that he sent this week.. Okay the first one is a sweet little girl of a family that they were teaching and she would call Zac Uncle Shill, so cute.. second picture well that's alittle gross, this was his sink that was backed up in his new appt that he just moved into to, okay alittle gross i would say, and I absolutely love this picture i just think it sums up the whole emotional feelings that you have while your son is gone for two years..

Now for the love of my life! Don't get me wrong I love all my children but there is something about this kid that keeps are spirits lifted and keeps us shaking our heads! So Oscar has had some of the funniest ideas lately, On Sunday Willie and Camie brought there dog over and Oscar decided that Friz needs to have a friend so he proceeded to make himself into a dog and he was marked from head to toe, it was amazing and I am sorry I do not have a picture.. and I will have to leave out Willie's comment...So on Monday he comes home from school and gets the paper and markers and decided he is going to be a rabbit cause rabbit's like carrots and he loves carrots so this is his great imagination that i want to share with you all, Now for that water picture and again my clever little Oscar, I was sitting on the couch and Oscar comes in with TWO glasses of water I said "Oscar is there a reason that you need to bring in two glasses of water into the family room??? "Oscar" Mom I have to bring in TWO incase the other one RUNS OUT!! smart boy!!!!!!! I am so gald for this blogging things cause this is way for me to remember and express things for me and my family and someday to make into a journal for me, otherwise I don't think i would take the time to write each night about my events! I have a sister that has keeped a Journal forever I think since her Junior year when she sent her missionary off and has keep one ever since, I thought what a legacy she will have for her children to look back on and read.. feeling alittle guilty that i haven't done that myself, but maybe i can look back and think of things to write. about...

Happy Birthday Avree, Friday we had a great time celebrating Avree's 1st birthday there was great yummy food and homemade ice cream and lots of treats to go with..Avree was so funny with her cake as soon as Hannah let her taste the frosting with her finger she was off to go for the rest! it was everywhere and frosting covering her mouth to her nose.. She got quite the haul for gifts, the pictures below are from our camping trip the weekend before, I do have to admit Payson had such nice weather and then to have a drizzle of rain just makes everything smell so good it wouldn't be a bad place to live someday so relaxing and have all the amenities of enjoying life... Sometimes we just need to sit back and enjoy being with family and getting away from T.V and all the riff raf of life...

Lets see where do I start! Well it started with a great weekend, Boyd and I and the kids headed to Payson to go visit Hannah and Billy where they were camping (pictures to come) and Boyd decided to get supplies to make some delious dutch oven cobbler while we were there, we spent the night and fished the next day and had a great time, we left Sunday Afternoon and drove through Roosevelt lake area and was so surprised how much water was in the Lake, stopped and ate at El Ray the best Mexican food place so good, yes i do feel alittle guilty because it was Sunday, but these situations don't happen to often in the Shill home! okay maybe sometimes when necessary ! We get home had a great weekend and wake up Monday morning Boyd mowing the Lawn (yes i was so surprised not his favorite thing to do) and I helped with weed eating, cause I know that all the women out there know that we are famous for our weed eating talents! So then it happens Boyd gets a phone call from Willie "hey Dad i need a huge favor" Boyd yes....Can you come up and help me I just shot a Deer, Well of course Boyd does not hesitate and quickly goes in and showers and is on his way! I did have to remind him that the reason we came home a day earlier was to avoid the traffic from this Holiday.. but that didn't change his mind.. he was off, I finished up the yard, got cleaned up and went grocery shopping.. came home and this was hanging from my back porch!!! I ask why didn't Willie take this to his house and cut it up there?.. But we all know its way better at your parents house and you have Dad there to help, thank goodness the garbage was coming the next morning.. Well Willie Mom is proud of you and your hunting skills and wiliness to hunt till you get your prize..now we will all have meat for the Winter!!!! you too Camie! ha I know that if my family was ever in a situation in our lives that we have to depend on the wilderness to survive that we would not go hungry!! Thanks Willie for making Oscar's day also he was so excited and so interested while watching Willie and his Dad.....

I love this little boy ever so much! He has the most incredible imagination i have ever seen, After school yesterday and after he did his homework he said he was going outside to make some ROCK FRIENDS, I wasn't quite sure what he was saying and then he came in and asked if I could get him the tape and the sharpie and the rubber bands that Dad has, well when he asked me for the sharpie i had to remind him that we don't draw on the walk way to the house or anywhere on the cement, he assured me he wouldn't, so he was outside for quite awhile oh and i forgot to mention he wanted his bag full of sea shells that he has collected every time we have gone to Rocky Point.. So Boyd and I were on the Couch discussing the day (which really there was nothing to discuss)other then our everyday happenings and job finding, and low and behold Oscar comes in with a grin from ear to ear and says " Look guys these are my Rock Friends! Mom this is you because you have hair and Dad this is you cause you don't have hair!!!!! it was all Boyd and I could do not to chuckle out loud but both looked at each other with amazement of how creative our little boy is and how is comes up with the most remarkable things he is truly a gift from our heavenly father and we love him so much there is never a dull moment in the Shill home with Oscar around! we Love you Oscar!

A CRAZY BUSY WEEK!

What a crazy busy week we had! My Nephew Rex came home from his mission on Wednesday, And looks great, there is something about a return missionary they just seem like they have a sparkle in their eye and like we all hope that it will stay that way, Rex seems happy and content. Thursday we had George's wedding dinner, Lida put on a Great dinner (thanks to her wonderful sisters)! it was a very nice night other then it was roasting hot where she had the wedding dinner, i won't go into further detail! but everything looked pretty and was well done, Then on Friday we had the Wedding and it was beautiful they are a cute couple it was a fun day but I don't think i would like my kids to be married in August in Arizona it was like 112 that day so not many outside Temple pictures were taken., Friday was the reception and turned out very nice and fun, My brother in-law Ron Willis has a band with a few of his friends and let me tell you they rock it was allot of fun and we got to hear allot of mixture from Three Dog Night to James Taylor and etc.. then to top of the evening my nephew Morgan who is a hoot roasted George and Sang a Neil Diamond song to him (money talks) it was great and we were dying of laughter not to mention he did sound quit a bit like him and was dressed to the tee, i have no picture to post but hopefully someone in my family will, then on Sunday we had a missionary farewell our good friend Kellin Mills is leaving for Connecticut and then we had Rex homecoming also it was a great Sunday, Then we had all of our married kids over for dinner which is always fun, then after we had a great dinner (thank you Boyd) for his great grilling expertise... then we proceeded to go to his Dad were all his family was there with there kids so we had are grand kids and the cousins all together, it's always fun to see Boyd's dad interact with the little kids and talk to them he such a softy at heart and the little kids adore him and he seemed real happy to see my older kids come and visit since they don't get over there to often I'm so glad he doesn't feel to old to be a great grandpa and he is a good grandpa at that, so here is a picture of all the babies and there Moms together and I think they are all under Two.. So this was my week and it will be nice to have somewhat a quite one this week..

So last night for Family Night all of my siblings and there families went and saw Saturday's Warrior/ The White Star, it was the most amazing performance and I absolutely loved the music it makes me want to go buy the CD, The last time I saw this play was when I think I was around 15. I am so glad I took Hallie and went and I am so glad my sister Trish took it upon herself to contact all of us to go, it was amazing and just puts everything into perspective and reminds us why we are here on this earth and where we will be going after we are done here, and how close families can be and to love and help each other, I know that if it comes again I will be inviting my family and friends to go and enjoy this spectacular play, the cast did a great job and you really felt you were apart of them and what they were trying to share with us all...

Happy Birthday Zac! Today is Zac Birthday August 17th weighing in a 6lbs 7oz, My littlest baby turned out to be our tallest child! These are some pictures that he just sent us of how much rain Mexico had got, hum I wonder how his pants are going to hold out these last few months! I am sure he has learned some good washing tips. He has enjoyed his Mission so much and I think he is a little sad to think it will be over in Three Months but at the same time I can tell he is anxious to get home and head to the mountains for some hunting and fishing with Willie and Boyd, in fact he said that's where he wants to go the next day he gets home, I don't think that will happen since he has to speak that Sunday, it will be fun to have him home, and we have truly been blessed as a family having him out in the Field, We Love you Elder Shill and I hope you have a Great and Fun Day for your Birthday..

OUCH!!!!!! SHOT TIME

So yesterday after school, Hallie and Oscar needed to go be updated on there shots, so why not do it at our friendly Fire Station with our SO FRIENDLY FIREMEN! I told the kids that if they did real good and didn't make a peep we would go get a treat after we were done, they were so good and so didn't even make a peep, the 4th picture I had the firemen pretend to be giving Hallie a shot cause i missed the real one while i was getting a picture of Oscar, Hallie was so embarrassed that i would ask them to do that, but i don't think they minded at all, then they were rewarded with some stickers, tattoos and a real cool firemen hat! The funny thing was that on the way home I was talking to Hallie and I said "ooh I hope they gave you the right shots! (just joking) and Oscar heard and said "Mom Zac my friend well they gave there DOG the wrong shot and it DIED! " quickly I had to cover my words and say Oscar these firemen are professionals and they take care of us and I know they gave you all the RIGHT shots.. kids are so funny and Oscar was so proud of himself for not even crying, but later told me his elbow hurt from the shot! lol..

I guess I have to THANK my Brother Robert and his son Chaz for offering Oscar a chance to have Chaz's Leopard Gecko! Chaz has had it since he was four and decided to pass it down to one of his cousins and Oscar happen to be the lucky one! just what i have always wanted, I see enough of these outside my house (well not the leopard ones) but the friendly house ones that eat all the other bugs and that sometimes will try to escape into the house or surprise us and be in the bathtub. But Oscar is thrilled and so excited to have "Joanna" a part of his life, Lets just hope she doesn't get out and he lets her have reign over the house! thanks Robert for making Oscar's day... next time could you ask me first!!!!!!!!

BACK TO SCHOOL!

Well lets just say I truly think my kids were excited to start school! alittle nervous but full of excitement! It all started last night, Hallie trying on different outfits oh my I thought i was going to die, Hannah and I just got to the point were we would say say YES wear that, Hallie couldn't decide if she should wear shorts or long pants and what shirt looked the best with shorts, Hannah was laughing Billy was disgusted and said that he hope Avree would not get to that point, Hannah was trying to remind me she wasn't like that starting Jr. High,I had to remind her she was.. finally Hallie picked out what she wanted to wear and all was good, until this morning and the her undershirt was showing to much skin! (which i am so glad that is important to her) so i reminded her that everything was perfect last night and she would be just fine... Oscar was getting his back pack ready last night and setting out his clothes (boys are so easy) he drew a picture for his teacher that he got in primary with a little saying on it (so proud that he is already doing his missionary work) he was all good to go and was so excited to go to school.. We had a great Sunday afternoon with everyone over and after Boyd got back from his meeting at the Church he asked the kids if there was anything special that they thought they needed extra help with this school year! (I love it when he does things like this) after none of them could think of anything or maybe they didn't know quite yet what they needed he asked them if he could give them a school blessing, He has done this with all of my kids from day one when they started the new school year, for those of you that don't know what this is i will try to explain it is just a Fathers blessings and he blesses his children that they can have a good school year and be strong and avoid temptations that are out there in the world and that they will pick good friends and be good friends to all .. ( I wanted to mention this because if you read the Ensign we are suppose to share some of our feelings on are blog about what we do in our Church for others to read, and plus like you all i wanted to use this as one of my journal also..) sorry this is so long.. then off to bed they went and it was a nice quiet evening, Boyd and I watched the Olympics and was so excited to see the mens swim team win it was so close! Oscar was up bright and early to get ready for school and Hallie was up when her alarm went off (i was her alarm) it was a good morning and I can't wait for them to get home, I will miss them they have been allot of fun this summer and we have had a good time being at home, this summer went by way to fast for us all.. I think i will make some cookies for when they get home today!

School Hair Cuts and a Fun Picture

Well it's that time of year again, Sunday Camie came over and Oscar was so excited cause he knew he was getting his haircut! He loves his hair short and wanted to get it all ready for school, he always tells Camie that his RAT TAIL is growing in the back and it needs to be cut! He is such a fun and cute boy, I couldn't believe all the hair that was on the ground when she finished! Thank you Camie for such a nice hair cut, now he is ready for school!

Hallie also got a cute Haircut from Camie to start her new year at Junior High, we failed to get a before and after picture , but maybe i will do that the first day of school, so I thought I would throw this fun picture of her and her cousin Lauren, they just got through seeing a movie in 3 D and these were the glasses they got! I can't believe school is starting I will miss my kids we have had a fun summer and it went by way to fast..

Missionary Moments!

This is Elder Shill's zone, they all decided to go on a hike for their P-day and well to make a long story short, Zac decided to take two other missionaries and try to go a faster way and to see who could get to the top the fastest! Little did he know that after getting to the top first and then trying to figure out how to get down well they were lost for six hours climbing and crawling through mud and being alittle scared (well not Zac of course he was having a great time) they finally made it down six hours later and ten miles away from the rest of the group!! Zac said it was the " BEST"

So Pretty I never would of dreamed that it looked like this..

Were just glad that all was well and he made it down safe.. Zac said the only thing that would of made it better was if they would have got to spend the night!!!!! yikes what am I going to do with him when he gets home... hopefully he will want to get stright into school!!! He has had the best experiences on his Mission and has grown spiritually from them, in his last Email he talks about trials and how they make you stronger as a Missionary, he loves his Mission and Loves his Savior and is so thankful that he has this oppertunity to go and serve his Savior...

Hurray It's Done!

It's Done and only 9 steps later! This swing set is what I wanted and got for Mother's Day, not only for me but for my kids, my grandkids and my day care kids that I watch! Much to Mr. Boyd's busy schedule back when it was purchased I didn't think I would ever get it put together everyone was busy including Willie and Billy ( i just think they didn't want to do it even though i was offering them a good price! ) So three months later and Boyd being layed off from Lennar were he was a construction super. it finally got put together this weekend, it took almost two days to do it in the 112 degree weather and a few choice words, but I'm happy and all the little kids will be so happy too, best of all I don't have this big huge box in my carport and everyone asking what it is.. Thank you Boyd for doing this for me I know it was not fun for you to put together if only there was a lake in our back yard so he could of done some fishing in between....

It was a busy weekend and all with Hallie's party, but it ended on a fun Sat. evening, Boyd and I got to watch the two most beautiful grand kids around! Hannah and Billy and Willie and Camie all went and got Sushi and then to a Movie and asked if we would watch the kids, can't refuse that offer so we got to spend the evening with them, they were so good and we had some good laughs while they were here, The best part was i got to bathe them and then give them their baby lotion rub down its the best and so relaxing for them (so glad for my mom's teachings) and then feed them their bottle and they were good to go for the night, Vance slept till his parents came and Aunt Hallie played with Avree till Hannah and Billy came and got her, it was allot of fun to have them both at the same time, I know I may sound a little strange, but it was a fun night I recommend it to you all someday...
